Following on the heels of PO results, the IBPS Clerk Common Exam 2013 announcement has been released.It is one of the most expected notice & with this Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is to conduct the 3rd common written examination (CWE) for clerk jobs in govt. owned banks.As in earlier years, new additions have been sustained for 2013 edition also.

Qualifying in IBPS clerical exam is necessary to apply for clerk vacancies in 19 public sector banks.

Though the names of participating banks are listed, the institute has also mentioned ‘any other financial institution’ alongside.So you can apply for recruitments in any organisation that require IBPS clerk CWE 2013 qualifiers.




    Note this:

    Application registrations from August 19 to September 7, 2013
    Written test (online): in the month of December
    Allotments to be completed by April 2014


    Highlights:

    Before you proceed to read about the eligibility conditions, here are some new rules introduced during last recruitment.They have been retained without any changes.






  • Click the correct answer: Gone are the days of shading on OMR sheets as you will appear for an online written test.


  • Ready for common interviews: All qualifiers of this exam shall appear for common interviews.Based on the total score & choice of banks appointments will happen.


  • No Std.XII passouts: Widely anticipated & now its official.Individuals with degree are only eligible for clerical positions.Those in college or with backlogs cannot register.(see only graduates can apply for clerk jobs)

    Eligibility Conditions:

    It is compulsory for registrants to satisfy the criteria as it shall remain the same in all banks.

    • Age to be min 20 years & max. 28 yrs, as on Aug 1.2013 (+5 yrs for sc/st & + 3 for obc)


    • Pass in degree (any discipline) from a recognized university, on or before 1.08.2013

    • Ability to read/write/speak in local language of the state applying is necessary.

    • Computer knowledge is compulsory (certificate from computer institute or must have studied computers in highschool/college)






    Selection Process:

    An online written test (objective type) shall be held in the month of December at numerous centres across India. For 200 marks, the exam will comprise of 200 questions & 0.25 would be reduced as negative mark for each wrong answer.

    What after exams?

    All those passing in clerical CWE shall appear for common interviews & once IBPS release their results, statewise/categorywise vacancy lists of banks will be put up for which candidates can give their order of preference.

    Depending on the final scores, no. of available post & choice submitted, banks will intimate applicants about their selection.(read getting bank jobs go tough with common interviews) 


    How to Register:

    Fees of Rs.100 (SC/ST) or Rs.600 (others) can be paid via two methods

    • Online (from Aug 19 to Sep 7) OR

    • Take a print of the challan (generated by system after registration) & visit any branch of Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India & deposit the amount into the given account before Sep 12th

    After 2 days of offline fee payment, registration confirmation will be sent through Email/SMS.

    In all cases, registrants can take a print of their application forms after 3 days of paying fees.

    nstitute of Banking Personnel Selection is all set to conduct Regional Rural Banks (RRB) common written exam 2013.RRB`s are mainly present in rural areas & provides banking facilities to people in those areas.Similar to the CWE for PO & Clerks in commercial banks, IBPS has announced the 2nd common exam for jobs in rural banks.

    The idea of a common eligibility test was mooted by the govt which we report in the month of March 2012 itself.In the months that followed the proposal was given shape by NABARD & IBPS has been entrusted with the charge of conducting, evaluating & publishing results for these bank jobs

    The 1st IBPS RRB CWE was conducted in the month of September 2012.

    62 rural banks participate in this year`s common recruitment platform.Those qualifying in this test can apply for Officer (Sc I,II,III) & Office assistant positions in desired organization.



    Dates:
        
    Online registrations of applications – July 4 to 25, 2013
    Written exam:
    Officers – September 21, 22  
    Office Assistants – September 28, 29, October 5, 6
    Result to be declared on November 5


    What is the eligibility?

    You must satisfy the following conditions, as on July 1, 2013

    • Should have completed degree (any discipline) from a recognized university

    • Must posses proficiency in local language of the state where RRB is located.
      • pass in local language at std. X level



    Agelimit:

    • between 18 – 28 yrs for Office assistant

    • Scale I officer: above 18 & below 28 yrs

    While the above are only for general category, relaxation applies for others. (max. age +3 yrs for OBC, +5 yrs for SC/ST)



    Selection Process:

    The IBPS common bank exam shall contain objective type questions for a total of 200 marks.The mode of examination is online.

    The pattern is the same for Officers & Office assistants, while scale II,III have few extra papers.



    Scores & Validity:

    Based on your exam performance, IBPS shall award scores which are valid for 1 year.Candidates can apply for RRB recruitments issued within this period using these scores.

    Applicants must secure the minimum cutoff scores in each paper & also on total weighted score to qualify in written exams. 



    Registration Methods:

    The application fees are fixed at Rs.100 (SC/ST) or Rs.600 (others) with the following options of payment,


    1. Online: (from Jul 4 – 25): Visit ibps.in & click on the ‘RRB online application’ to fill the necessary details.After submitting the form, you would be directed to the online fee payment gateway.

      • Pay the appropriate fee amount using netbanking/credit or debit cards

      • After the transaction is complete, print the generated e-receipt

      • If application submission is successful, a registration number & password would be shown that has to be noted.




    2. Offline: (from Jul 6 – 30): Logon to ibps.in & visit IBPS RRB CWE webpage to fill the online application.Enter the required details & hit submit.

      • On submitting the application, note the generated Reg.no & password (also will be sent to your Email/ SMS)

      • Take a print of the challan that shall be generated after the above step.


      • From the 2nd day, you can deposit the fees at any branch of BOB, BOI, BOM, PNB, IOB, United bank of India or Central Bank of India using the printed challan

      • As a confirmation of paying fees, you will receive Email/SMS after 2 days.


      • After 3 days from date of payment, login with your reg.no & pwd & print the application that contains your filled-in details.

    The IBPS common written examination for PO/MT jobs conducted recently has turned out to be termed a nightmare for applicants with the difficulty level taking most by surprise.But the common exam for jobs in rural banks (RRB) are to take place in the coming months.

    62 regional rural banks (gramin banks) are participating in the common recruitments process & to apply for them, qualifying in IBPS RRB CWE is must. The procedure that precedes, follows the hiring route of PO,clerk & specialist officers.

    Similarity in exam patterns:

    They are pretty much the same except for the difference in no. of questions & marks.Both tests shall be online based.


    To note:

    While unanswered questions are not given any marks, 0.25 as negative mark will be reduced for each wrong answer in both exams.



    Officers

    Although the exam is for scale I, II (generalist & specialist), III, we shall look at the the Officer (scale I) cadre in depth.

    With a 2 hrs 30 mins duration & 200 objective type questions, the outline is as follows

  • Answers for each question in Reasoning & Quantitative aptitude carries 1.25 marks

  • Computer knowledge section has 20 questions, each worth 0.5 marks

  • There is no descriptive test

    Since RRB officer exam is similar to PO, study materials that you used for IBPS exam would be sufficient.If new, consider buying exam guides or solved papers for practice.

  • Office Assistants

    The RRB office assistants test pattern is exactly same as clerical exam in commercial banks.

  • 1.25 marks is awarded for each correct answer in reasoning & numerical ability

  • English or Hindi language paper?

    Now this is an important addition to the list of instructions.Since gramin banks are located only within a particular state, employees are required to have proficiency in the local language.
