Name of posts :
1. Male Constable (General Duty) : 8275 posts
2. Female Constable (General Duty) : 334 posts

Educational Qualification : The minimum educational qualification for a candidate to be eligible for selection as constable shall be 10+2 for all categories.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 – 20,200 + GP of Rs. 2000/-

Age Limit : Candidates age should be between 18 years to 25 years as on 01/10/2013.

* For the candidate belonging to the Schedule caste and Backward Class categories relaxation of upper age limit of 5 years shall be given as per Punjab Police Rules 12.15 (1).

Physical Standards:

1. For Male Constables -
(i) Height – Minimum 5′-7″;
(ii) Chest-Un-expanded – Minimum 33″; Expanded – Minimum 34 V2 (Minimum expansion of one and half inch).

2. For Female Constables -
(i) Height – Minimum 5′-2″.
